English 9 (Period 3)

English 9 instruction focuses on the central themes of maturation, diversity, and the development of compassion, empathy, and respect for others. The curriculum teaches the skills of reading, writing, discussion, language use, and vocabulary development through the study of literature. Core readings include short stories, plays, novels and poetry.

Students are required to do 30 minutes of daily reading as homework and document on a reading log that requires parent signature.
