Welcome Message 2024-2025

The O'Farrell Charter School is thrilled to announce the commencement of the 2024-2025 school year, featuring several notable changes and improvements. We recently received renewal of our AVID National Demonstration School certification status for another three years. The AVID certification renewal underscores the school's commitment to academic excellence combined with college and career readiness. A new early learning playground has been installed for our transitional kindergarten students ensuring a safe and innovative play space. We have also enhanced student engagement events. Thus far, these events have included a very successful family engagement event for our elementary students through a partnership with The ANEW Project, a welcome back BBQ for new middle school students and a summer bridge program for our rising freshman class.

We look forward to even more enhancements to our program over the 2024-2025 school year such as new career technical education pathways in sports medicine and digital design in the high school program.  Middle school students will also experience student voice and leadership events with The ANEW Project as part of homebase.  Elementary students will continue to have enrichment opportunities in visual and performing arts as well as STEM instruction through fully credentialed teachers as a means to ensuring a well rounded educational program.  I encourage you to follow along with my monthly family newsletters for the latest updates and celebrations. 

When you visit campus, you will see construction on our new student union building project which will add additional theater space, music classrooms, science labs, and student union space.  It will be fun watching the progress as we anticipate the opening of the new building during the 2025-2026 school year.

This year, O’Farrell is excited to unveil these enhancements aimed at providing a more enriching and engaging educational environment. By updating our facilities, and resources, we ensure that every student has the opportunity to excel and reach their full potential.
