Bio
I took an uncommon route to be your chemistry teacher at O'Farrell! After high school, I joined the Navy and spent 13 years as a "nuc" on submarines. This involved working on many different tasks associated with the nuclear reactor ranging from monitoring temperatures, to water chemistry control, to working inside radiation areas. After years spending my time in a steel tube underwater, I went back to school at Point Loma Nazarene University and earned a degree in Environmental Science and then a teaching credential. During my undergrad, I spent a summer in Michigan doing some research to reintroduce the Arctic Grayling (Learn more here. www.migrayling.org) I love science and I look forward to helping every student develop a strong chemistry foundation.
I have a wife and three children (7, 10 and 21 years old). Together we do lots of traveling and camping and playing in the outdoors. I'm also active in my church and enjoy photography and woodworking in the little spare time I get.
If I can answer a question or offer you help (or your child) please reach out to me via email. I will do everything I can this year to support our students through chemistry.
