Amelia Peck
Welcome to the 2021-22 school year!
I am so excited to be back in person this year! This is my second full-time year at O'Farrell and I am teaching 11th Grade CP United States History and 11th Grade CP Government and Economics. I am also the advisor for the Class of 2024, where we will be planning and fundraising for all of the senior activities.
A little about me...
I moved from Los Angeles to San Diego a little over two years ago. I am very busy with an active toddler, Felix, who was born on March 11, 2020 - the day the pandemic was declared.
This will be my 5th year in the classroom. In Los Angeles I taught at a K-12 magnet school with LAUSD for 2 years. I have taught every grade and subject from 8 - 12 and love all things history. My first year of teaching I won the 'Rookie of the Year' award, a prestigious award only granted to a small group of first-year teachers.
I was born and raised on the east coast, but have been in Southern California for over 10 years with no intent of ever leaving... I can't get enough of the sunshine! In a past life I worked in the advertising industry, but found that teaching is where my heart lies. I got my master's and teaching credential from University of Southern California and never looked back. In my free time I spend time with my son, husband, & dog (Rufus!), garden, run, travel, and explore all the great things San Diego has to offer. I can't wait to meet you all and get started this year!
