About Me

Hello, my name is Lucas Garcia! This is my fourth year teaching, and my second at O'Farrell. I will be teaching 7th grade science this year, and I'm so excited to explore the world of science with you! I grew up here in San Diego, before going to college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, about five hours north of here in beautiful San Luis Obispo, California.I got my bachelors degree in History with a minor in Asian Studies. After I graduated I received my teaching credential in social studies at Cal Poly. Not long after that, I finished my science teaching credential from UCLA. When I finished my credential program, I moved back to San Diego with my wife. I am married and have two daughters, Annalise and Penelope! I love sports, the beach, reading, writing, playing games, spending time with my family and friends, cooking and gardening. I love animals, especially reptiles. I have a ball python, and I also have two bearded dragons who will be joining us in class this year. I am so excited to meet everyone this year and start learning and growing with you!
